Should I order the new Kindle Fire or wait to see if there will be an iPad mini?

I really want the new Kindle Fire because everything about it is exactly what I’m looking for in a tablet: great touch screen, perfect size, and perfect price! But there has been rumors about a new iPad mini coming out in 2012. Do you think it is worth waiting for an iPad mini or should I just go ahead and order the Kindle Fire? I know that the iPad mini will probably have better features but I don’t want to spend more than $250 for one. Do you think the iPad mini will be more than that? Thanks for any advice! I’m really bad with decisions like these. :)

If price is your concern than I would recommend you to get Kindle fire as you may not find a cheaper tablet than this. I would only wait for Ipad mini if I am not considering money as a problem.

These are some good features which would lead you to buy kindle fire:

-7″ IPS color screen. This is a very good screen with 1024 by 600 pixel resolution and 169 ppi pixel density. It also has two finger multi-touch and an anti-reflective treatment.
- Lots and lots of content – lots of magazines, over 100K movies and TV shows, lots of Android Apps, over 1,000 children’s illustrated books, around 1 million books from the Kindle Store.
- Quite Light at 14.6 ounces (413 grams). Pretty compact – 7.5″ x 4.7″ x 0.45″ (190 mm x 120 mm x 11.4 mm). Makes it easy to hold in one hand (though probably not for long) and easy to carry around.
- Very good value for money. Some analysts are even claiming that Amazon is losing $50 per Kindle Fire sold.
- A pretty powerful dual-core processor from Texas Instruments.
- The user interface, based on everything we have seen so far, is fast and simple and easy to use.
- Gorilla Glass display means more durability and less scrapes and scratches.
- Built-in Browser that will let you access Facebook, Twitter, and other sites. There is support for Flash too.
- Built-in Email App.
- WhisperSync (automatic syncing across devices) now extends from Kindle Fire to Kindles and TVs. The point at which you stopped reading a book or stopped watching a movie is synced across devices.
- Kindle Fire is better for Children’s Books and Textbooks than the Kindle. Mostly due to touch and color.
- Free Cloud Storage for Amazon content. Doesn’t really make up for the limited 8 GB space and lack of SD card.
- There’s a USB port. You can transfer files from your PC or Mac to the Kindle Fire. You can also charge is via USB.
- Support for Flash.

These are few cons which might refrain you:

- There’s no 3G. That means you have to find a WiFi network to get web access.
- No camera or microphone
- 8 GB memory will fill up very quickly. There is no SD Card slot which is a major pain. The free Cloud storage is nice so you can store things bought from amazon on it.

But still the cost is enough for the features mentioned, here is a bookmark from my researches which would help you making decision:

Kobo Launches Android Based Mostly E-Reader

According to info from Market USA, Kobo has released a brand new Android Ereader e-reader gadget, called the Kobo Vox, which will combine many net browsing, communication, as well as social networking features of their new e-reader. This system, similar to others already available on the market, has the basic operate of permitting customers to read digital books without having to sit down in front of a computer. So customers can learn their favorite romance novels, for instance, wherever they’re, whether or not they are lying down on their sofa, or outside their home.

The Kobo Vox encompasses a coloration screen, which is something that many users of e-readers have been asking to get for quite a while now. It will enable people to easily read eBooks and paperwork that contain color graphics and pictures. Though it is a new growth, it needs to be noted that the Kobo Vox doesn’t carry something revolutionary to the e-reader marketplace. The Amazon Kindle Fire has a color display screen and similar features and so do among the most recent models of other e-readers.

It is, nonetheless, the primary e-reader to use the Android 2.three operating system, which is a platform that is used on many cellular units like pill PCs and smart phones. One of many issues that Kobo is advertising and marketing the machine as is “the primary social e-reader.” This is due to distinctive apps included on the device that make sharing data with others by way of social media easy. Customers can connect with social networks corresponding to Facebook and Twitter with simply the press of a button. So if you want to touch upon the most recent romance books online, doing so shall be very straightforward from the Kobo Vox. The applying is named Studying Life and is designed to increase the social aspect of reading eBooks. It additionally has the revolutionary feature of allowing you to immediately share whole books, pages, in addition to individual paragraphs from the ebook that you are reading.

Lots of people who learn totally different sorts of books, such as erotic Books and on-line romance novels will recognize some of the social options, as they can be used to identify suggestions from other users concerning which eBooks are the most effective on this, and lots of other categories.

Nonetheless, there’s also a concern that the supply of social media, as well as an internet browser and e-mail purposes will flip this gadget right into a small tablet PC moderately than something worthy of being referred to as an e-reader. Some individuals have commented that the availability of the web on the system will simply create too many distractions. Will the second technology of e-readers with increased online capabilities actually take off? As they’re a reasonably recent product solely time will tell.
